Spring Living Retirement Communities (springliving.ca) is a boutique, rapidly growing Canadian senior living owner/operator, who currently owns and operates 23 retirement communities in Ontario and Quebec. The company has an ambitious growth plan to expanding through acquisition of mid-market retirement residences across Canada over the next 5 years. JOB OVERVIEW
REPORTS TO: Assistant Controller
The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for the accounts payable function for a portfolio of retirement residences to ensure payables are processed accurately and on a timely basis.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for full cycle of accounts payable for the portfolio of retirement residences, including capex and management entities using Yardi Payscan (electronic payment approval system).
- Enters, reviews, and codes corporate and capex invoices sent into head office, including expense claims.
- Reviews property level operating expenses for coding.
- Review accounts payable invoices (including backup) and coding entered by retirement community staff for accuracy.
- Performs and prepares weekly payment cycle package for electronic fund transfers, cheques and wires for manager review including workflow approvals.
- Maintains files, and electronic supporting documentation that facilitates the payment of all expenditures. Any hard copy items (such as cheque stubs) also need to be filed.
- Request and reconcile major vendor statements on a monthly basis.
- Responds to internal and external customers concerning all payment transactions processed within Accounts Payable.
- Assists the property accountants with investigations for month end accruals.
- Assist with budget process.
- Assist with audit and tax preparation.
- Ad hoc requests as needed.

- Hours vary depending on needs of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounts payable role, preferably in a real estate environment.
- College degree, preferably in business related field.
- Familiarity with Yardi an asset.
- Familiarity with seniors housing is preferred.
