Spring Living Retirement Communities (springliving.ca) is a boutique, rapidly growing Canadian senior living owner/operator, who currently owns and operates 28 retirement communities in Ontario and Quebec. The company has an ambitious growth plan to expanding through acquisition of mid-market retirement residences across Canada over the next 5 years. Spring Living is the Retirement Community platform of the BAZ group; a Real Estate company that strategically acquires, develops, constructs and repositions assets throughout North America.
JOB OVERVIEW
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
The Strategic Project Analyst will support the CFO to project manage process refinements within the finance function, including accounting and reporting, business performance analysis and corporate finance activities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Office of the CFO, reporting directly to the CFO, acting as right-hand on all actions
- Implementing the CFOs strategic plan and vision for the entire Finance Department
- Role may also evolve to support corporate finance activities, including financing, capital markets, treasury and liquidity management
Strategic Project implementation:
- Supporting the CFO on the roll-out of an expanded finance department organizational design and new functional areas (including corporate finance, FP&A, etc.)
- Working with the Director of Business Systems to design business performance outputs (KPI dashboards, revenue and labour metrics, etc.) and implement new finance technology
- Lead a working group on process optimization and improvement within existing accounting workflow processes
- Support finance and operations on strategic sourcing and procurement
- Partner with investments, operations and other departments to ensure better collaboration/coordination and performance improvement opportunities
- Assist CFO with board/EC level presentations and materials
- Such other special projects as may be required from time-to-time
Financial Strategy:
- Design a new budget and cash flow forecasting tool for the finance function
- Assisting with board and executive reporting on financial performance, including improvements to existing framework
- Leading on improvements to our financial reporting to investors
- Assisting the CFO with various corporate finance activities and corporate development activities
- Preparing financial analysis and models as required to assist the CFO
- Working with the FP&A team to develop best-in-class performance analytics and NOI optimization strategies
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years in investment banking, consulting or strategic project management
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Real Estate or Accounting or an equivalent discipline is required
- Post-graduate qualifications like a CPA, CFA or CBA are additive
- Strong, relatable project management experience is essential
- Skills and Personality:
- Excel proficiency

- Strong communication skills, ability to convert analysis into action plan – board level presentation skills

- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, under tight deadlines
Pay: From CA$90,000.00 per year
