Spring Living Retirement Communities (springliving.ca) is a boutique, rapidly growing Canadian senior living owner/operator, who currently owns and operates 22 retirement communities in Ontario and Quebec. The company has an ambitious growth plan to expanding through acquisition of mid-market retirement residences across Canada over the next 5 years. Spring Living’s mission is to create warm, welcoming and secure environments for residents, foster caring connections, and provide personalized services by team members who are committed to making a significant IMPACT every day.
Spring Living is the Retirement Community platform of the BAZ group; a Real Estate company that strategically acquires, develops, constructs and repositions assets throughout North America.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Bus Driver is responsible for transporting Residents in the company vehicle to various events and activities coordinated by the Residence.
The incumbent lends a helping hand and cultivates relationships with staff, residents, and families.
ROLE S AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with residents, their families and employees;
- Assist residents with care requirements (walkers/wheelchairs, etc.) while entering and exiting the facility vehicle;
- Transport residents in the facility vehicle to various scheduled locations, outings and events;
- Assist the Recreation/Activity Manager with other duties as assigned;
- Be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it;
- Attend in-service training as required in order to better serve the needs of the residents;
- Attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in Residence that have taken place;
- Participate in the Quality Improvement Program;
- Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Spring Living’s Code of Conduct;
- Complete all other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must demonstrate strong written and verbal English skills
- Must possess a valid and applicable class of driver’s license, with a clean driving record; ON – Class F; MB AB BC – Class 4
- Proof of current, valid CPR and First Aid certification
- Enjoys working closely with team members and has a strong desire to provide our residents with a better quality of life
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and patience
- Previous experience working with seniors is considered an asset
